HEARD AUDIO LLC is a sound design and consulting firm specializing in live entertainment, theatre, and immersive experiences. We design and install sound systems for a wide range of venues from bars to large theatres and from nightclubs to multi-level interactive immersive experiences.

Heard Audio has designed and installed sound systems for immersive experiences and live events with clients such as Samsung, The City of New York, Tavern on the Green in Central Park, TodayTix, Cocktail Magique and theatrical venues including The REV Theatre Co., Ogunquit Playhouse, and Seattle Rep.

About Kevin

KEVIN HEARD (he/him) is a New York City-based sound designer and producer of theatre and live experiences.

Kevin’s award-winning sound design work has been heard on and off Broadway, at regional theatres all across the US, from London to Manila, and in spaces ranging from small bars and cabarets to 3,000 seat halls. With a strong focus on sound system design and optimization, Kevin specializes in large-scale musicals and intricate immersive experiences. He thrives most where the science of sound meets the art of storytelling.

Born and raised in a small town in western Montana, Kevin moved to Seattle for college and to explore his love for live performance. He received a degree in Audio Production from The Art Institute of Seattle and immediately dove into the incredible Seattle theatre and production communities, working with just about every theatre company in town as well as several live music venues, live production companies, and recording studios. Notably, Kevin spent three years as the Head Sound Engineer in the Leo K. Theatre at Seattle Rep and one year as the Resident Sound Designer and Sound Supervisor for Teatro ZinZanni, a cirque-meets-cabaret whirlwind immersive experience set in an authentic 1910 Belgian Spiegeltent.

In 2014, Kevin moved home-base to New York City. He has since worked as an Associate or Assistant Sound Designer for six Broadway productions, including Good Night, Oscar (starring Sean Hayes) and the Tony Award-winning play All The Way (starring Bryan Cranston) and has designed the sound for nearly 20 Off-Broadway plays and musicals, including the cult sensation In & Of Itself (created by Derek DelGaudio and directed by Frank Oz).

Kevin has collaborated on and designed the sound for shows at regional theatres all across the country including The 5th Avenue Theatre, ACT Theatre (Seattle), Asolo Repertory Theatre, George Street Playhouse, INTIMAN Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Northern Stage, Ogunquit Playhouse, The REV Theatre Co. (formerly Merry-Go-Round Playhouse), Seattle Rep, Theatre Under the Stars, Village Theatre, and more.

As a producer, Kevin has been part of the team at BenDeLaCreme Presents since 2014, producing many of BenDeLaCreme’s solo shows and tours as well as the internationally-renowned The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Show. Starring BenDeLaCreme and Jinkx Monsoon, this high-camp holiday spectacular has toured all over the US, UK, and Canada since 2018 with To Jesus, Thanks for Everything! (2018), All I Want for Christmas is Attention (2019), The Return of The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Show, LIVE! (2021), and The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Show (2022). Kevin also produced The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special (film version) in 2020.
